Meet Our Tring Therapy Team of Trainee Counsellors

    Dominic

    Integrative Trainee Counsellor

Sometimes, it can be hard to feel okay with life and your place in it. Counselling is a space to explore what matters to you, safely and without judgement, and how you can find a path towards growth and peace. I hope to offer you a calm, inviting service which lets you feel heard, and where you feel empowered to be yourself, however that may be.

I am currently in my second year of postgraduate training as an integrative counsellor at the University of Northampton. My approach draws from person-centred, psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioural therapies, as well as aspects of existential therapy and transactional analysis, so that I can tailor our work together specifically to you. I have a particular interest in working with issues of loneliness, depression and anxiety, and hope in the future to specialise in working with both carers and blue light workers.

    Danielle

    Trainee Humanistic Psychotherapist

I came to therapy from a different direction. After many years working in people-focused roles, coaching, managing teams and navigating the complexities of corporate life, I made the decision to retrain as a Humanistic Psychotherapist.

I’m drawn to therapy because I believe that sometimes what we need most is somewhere we can stop performing, make sense of what’s happening, and feel genuinely heard. I care about helping people move through the world with a little more ease and, perhaps most importantly, helping people feel less alone while they do it.

My approach is warm, curious and collaborative. I’m not here to tell you who you are or what you should do. You are the expert on your own life; my role is to meet you where you are and help you explore what might be getting in the way of living the life you want.

My Humanistic practice is neurodivergence and LGBTQiA+ affirming. I work with adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship difficulties and self-esteem.

  • Pete

    Trainee Psychodynamic Counsellor

I am a trainee psychodynamic counsellor undertaking the Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Practice at the University of Oxford.

Before training as a counsellor, I spent many years working as a journalist and documentary researcher. Throughout my career I interviewed people from a wide range of backgrounds, often at times of significant personal difficulty. Those experiences reinforced the importance of listening carefully, building trust, and creating a space where people feel heard without judgement.

My approach is thoughtful, compassionate, and collaborative. I believe that taking time to understand our thoughts, feelings and relationships can help us make sense of emotional difficulties and longstanding patterns, opening up the possibility for change.

I welcome adults experiencing a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, life transitions, and difficulties relating to neurodiversity. I aim to provide a safe, confidential, and reflective space where clients can explore whatever is troubling them at their own pace.

    Deborah

    Trainee Pluralistic Counsellor

I am a Trainee Pluralistic Counsellor currently training with Chrysalis courses.  I work from the belief that every individual is unique, requiring a personal and flexible approach to mental well-being.

I don't believe in a "one size fits all” philosophy so instead, I work collaboratively with my clients , drawing on Person Centred, Psychodynamic and CBT approaches, to identify what you need most in the moment—whether that is a space for deep reflection, a focus on current challenges, or a creative way to navigate complex emotions. I listen with curiosity and empathy and will walk alongside you without judgement, supporting you as you find your own path forwards.

In addition to my clinical work with adults, I have undertaken specialized training to support young people aged 11 and over. I understand that the transition from childhood to young adulthood carries its own specific pressures, and I am committed to providing a safe, adaptable environment where young people can feel heard and empowered.

With experience supporting people through stressful and challenging times, I am committed to helping clients develop greater resilience, self-understanding, and self-awareness.
